This Sunday, 12 November 2017, we open our doors of our new centre in Jurong East Mall (JEM)! We are very excited to share the TLL experience with more families in the western region of Singapore.
With our new centre opening at JEM this Sunday (and a new centre in Choa Chu Kang Centre this December), we hope to bring the TLL experience closer to you and your child.
1. Experienced Academic Team To Support Your Child
At The Learning lab, we do not only aim to help your child achieve his or her academic best but also to inspire your child to pursue his or her goals with confidence. Our teachers in the West are committed to delivering their best in class and to communicating regularly with you to keep you updated on your child's progress.
The TLL West Academic team is headed by Phua Kai Ying, a seasoned Math teacher with more than 5 years of teaching and training experience. Together, the TLL West academic team has more than 20 years of shared teaching experience and expertise.

2. More Class Options For Your Child
With effect from November, our centres in the West (TLL JEM, TLL Westgate and TLL Choa Chu Kang) will be managed by our TLL West Team to provide more class options for your child across the different centres.
3. New Facilities For A Conducive Learning Environment
Our boardroom-style classrooms are designed to provide students with optimal learning spaces that encourage group discussion and peer-learning. At The Learning Lab, we believe in empowering our students to share their ideas and opinions openly so they might learn from each other in a safe and constructive environment.
TLL JEM will also be equipped with its very own library to encourage your child to extend his or her learning beyond the classroom; we believe an avid reader becomes a better writer and more confident communicator!

4. Easy Accesibility And Added Convenience For You
JEM is located just next to Jurong East MRT, which means you've got convenient access to a great variety of shopping, dining and service options when your child attends lessons with us.
The new centres in the West will be headed by Phua Kaiying, Academic Director and her team of Subject Heads. She will be assisted by Christine Tan — Head of Enrolment and Client Services.
Our team possesses a wealth of experience. They are committed to helping students nurture the necessary knowledge, skills and dispositions for success.

Over the past 7 years in The Learning Lab serving in both the Client Services and Enrolment departments, I’ve enjoyed listening to and understanding customers' needs. In my role as Head of Enrolment and Client Services, I seek to continually improve the quality of service we provide to our customers. To do so, I believe that communication is key; it is necessary to constantly provide parent feedback to the academic team.
Alongside the dedicated team of teachers, client services ambassadors and enrolment consultants in the West, I look forward to further raising the quality of service and enriching our customers’ experience with TLL.

My 5 years of experience as a Mathematics teacher at The Learning Lab have been nothing short of amazing. Every day, I am constantly inspired by the students and colleagues I work with —they motivate me to do my best for them.
In my role as the Academic Director for TLL JEM, Westgate and Choa Chua Kang, I will be working closely with my team to help to increase quality of teaching in the Western centres. I hope to inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instil a love of learning and teaching in every student and teacher that we have at The Learning Lab.

There has not been a dull moment since I stepped into The Learning Lab in 2014. I am inspired by my students’ perseverance and I celebrate in my students’ successes. Just as how I help my students to grow, they too help me to become a better teacher. I seek to help them develop inquisitive minds and a passion for learning that will serve them well long after they step out of the doors of my classroom.
Together with a driven and passionate team of like-minded colleagues whom I work with at The Learning Lab, I am excited to embark on greater adventures with our students at the new centres!
Choo Hwee Meng
Math Subject Head
A teacher and Department Head with the Ministry of Education since the last millennium (an almost prehistoric 1999), I joined The Learning Lab in 2005 and have experienced and seen much growth in both the Centre and in our students.
As I take great joy in observing and participating in growth and development, teaching is a natural calling for me. From taking care of plants and pets in my youth, I now take pride in sharing my passion for Mathematics with my students and trainee teachers and watching them excel and take a greater interest in the subject; this fills me with a sense of satisfaction I suspect few vocations can match.

Since I started teaching at The Learning Lab in 2013, I have forged precious friendships with colleagues whom I have worked alongside each day.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my experience here at The Learning Lab is growing with my students. I work hard to maintain good relationships with my students and constantly encourage them to do better in their studies. In turn, my students inspire me to make each lesson a more engaging and enriching experience for them and for myself.
We would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate the opening of our new centre at JEM.
Besides fun activities for your child, you can also look forward to curriculum talks by our curriculum specialists to share more on how you can prepare your child for the year ahead.
To give your child a first-hand experience of what our classes are like, our 1.5-hour experience lessons will be available at the open house.
